Board of Trustees
Afe Babalola University has a unique management structure. One of the offices established to ensure effective development of the University, especially in the areas of infrastructure and capital projects is the office of the Board of Trustees. The Board consists of experts and technocrats carefully chosen by the founder, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN. As trustees they are required to render selfless services both as individuals and as a body. The Board’s main functions include to approve recommendations from the Governing Council on the general development, policy directions, endowments, financing strategy and long-range planning; to appoint the Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council and members of the Governing Council of the University and determine their terms and conditions of service; hold all properties (movable and immovable) of the University in trust and protect and defend all legal titles to the property of the University; ensure sustainable funding of the University and apply same in the interest of the University; make policies that will facilitate and enhance realisation of the objects of the University; and consider academic and non-academic annual reports and audited accounts of the University. In order to ensure effective performance of these functions the Board meets at least once a year; visits the University as often as possible but not less than once in every five years.
