The biblical Psalmist said, when a man does well, he wined and dined with Kings.  The truism of this saying was evident at the 3rd Founder’s Week anniversary of the most dynamic and fastest growing Private University in Nigeria, the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti where the Founder and President Emeritus, Aare Afe Babalola (SAN) was honoured with many awards.

Firstly, the University of Jos Students Union presented him with an Award of Excellence, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of University education in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State branch presented him with an award of “Philanthropist Per Excellence” in recognition of the noble roles he played in the actualization and development of Ekiti-State.

The All African Students Union (AASU) awarded him a Medal of Honour as their “Africa Man of the Year” while the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) put the icing on his cake by honouring him with the title of “The Legal Luminary of No Comparism”.

According to them, Aare’s efforts in building the most beautiful University and the Law College were the rationale behind the award. The Nigerian University Sports League also presented an Award of Excellence to the Founder as the true representative of Sports Excellence in the Country.

To crown the awards, a special gift was presented to the Founder, Aare AfeBabalola by Mrs. I.D. Omowaye on behalf of all Porters in the University as a token of love for a man who is the second biggest employer of labour, after Ekiti State Government.

In his remark, Aare Afe Babalola thanked those organizations that honoured him and promised to continue to serve humanity for life.
