In order to foster cordial relationship with the standing hallmark in the realm of educational development, the University of Ibadan Medical Students Association (UNIMSA) identified with the vision and mission of Aare Afe Babalola by participating in a football friendly match with the ABUAD Medical Students.

The match commenced in the noon under the able-leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Director of Sports, Prof M.O Ajisafe, the first professor of sports science in sub-saharan Africa; in the company of Prof. Oluyunka Akingbade from the College of Medical and Health Sciences.

The match constituted a display of tactics, proper field coordination, candour, entertaining dribbling and sportsmanship. Both team played with caution and friendliness. But the table was favourable to ABUAD Medical Students who played down the ancient Medical Team of U.I with accurate pass, technical possession of the ball, impeccable goal chances and impenetrable defensive skills. The game ended with a lone goal in favour of the ABUAD Medical Team.

UNIMSA expressed their honest surprise at the level sports development in Afe Babalola University and the facilities on ground to incorporate sporting culture in the University system of education. In their remarks, they urged other universities both private and public to emulate the great accomplishments of Aare Afe Babalola in the educational sector and prayed that God will prolong the days of the Founder among the living.
