The Consultant to the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Dr. S. A. Adejuwon, has given kudos to the Founder and Chancellor of the University, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, for the superlative structures and state-of-the-art facilities he has put in place for the clinical students at ABUAD’s Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti.

Speaking during a facility visit by ABUAD team to the teaching hospital yesterday, Adejuwon who teaches at the College of Medicine of the University of Ibadan affirmed that the architectural design and the in-built facilities at the clinical hospital provide a luxury that is not available in any student hostel in the whole of Africa.

According to him, the sheer aesthetics of the facilities compare favourably with what obtain in many of the North American universities.

The facilities include Nursing Students Hostel, Medical Students Hostels, Cafeteria, Auditorium and lecture rooms. Others are, teaching laboratories, conference rooms and the proposed Students Sports Complex.

Receiving the ABUAD team, led by the Founder, Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Dr. Ayodele, commended Babalola for the huge investment he has put in place for the Teaching Hospital, a development which he (Ayodele) said has gone a long way in confirming the selflessness Babalola has been well known for.

Ayodele appealed to other wealthy Nigerians to emulate the legal icon by channeling part of their resources towards humanity and investing in the future of Nigeria.

The Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Oba (retired Navy Captain) Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, added royal panache by leading his  appreciative Council of Chiefs to welcome Babalola and his team.

In his remarks, an obviously elated Founder thanked the host (Dr. Adejuwon) for being a good, warm and friendly host.  He equally thanked the contractor for a job well done.

ABUAD Medical and Nursing students in their third year will begin clinical training at the hospital in October this year.
