UPDATE ON RECENT PROGRESS
<
- I write to update you on the progress made by the institute for Oil, Gas, Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (OGEES Institute) in recent times, and to inform you that Volume 5 of the Journal is now out. The success of this Journal is another manifestation of OGEES Institute’s resolve and drive to fulfill the lofty promise and vision of the Founder and President Aare Afe Babalola, OFR, CON, LL.D, D.Litt, SAN-whose ultimate passion is to build a global University.
I am also pleased to inform you that the Director of the Institute, Dr. Damilola Olawuyi was invited to the Offshore East Africa Convention in October 2015 in Tanzania and he was represented by Barrister Nnamdi Ikpeze of the College of LAW Afe Babalola University to deliver a paper titled: Legal Strategies and Tools for Mitigating Legal Risks Associated with Oil and Gas Investments in Africa.
However, in order to consolidate the growing reputation of ABUAD as the leading global centre of research and learning, the OGEES Institute recently received one of its research fellows from Florida A&M University, United States to carry out a research work that will last for four months.
More so, the OGEES Institute has contributed various books of International and Local Standard to the Library, ranging from Engineering Textbooks and Sciences Textbooks. And just recently books were also contributed to the Law Library from Dr. Rhuks Ako a research fellow of the OGEES Institute based in the United Kingdom. A total of 12 volumes were forwarded through the Provost’s of Law to the Library.
