REPORT OF ACCREDITATION
AND QUALITY ASSURANCE UNIT
The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Unit was set up at the inception of the University in January 2010 with the following mandate.

To ensure recruitment of high quality teaching and non-teaching staff
To organize annual internal workshop on Teaching Methodology
To ensure high level of proficiency service delivery
To monitor implementation of University Development Plan
To ensure sustainable manpower development through training, re-training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
To ensure effective teaching through proper mentoring of teachers both in the classroom and laboratories.
To coordinate students period of evaluation of teacher performance, character and effectiveness.
To monitor and access quality, adequacy and currency of facilities and available resources in the Colleges.

Execution of Mandate
The unit has been carrying out the mandate given it from time to time. The annual work on Teaching Methodology is been organized on a regular basis. The 2016/2017 workshop is holding in February 2017. The representative of the NUC, UNESCO, JAMB and some Polytechnics and Universities has been active participants in previous editions of the workshop.
The evaluation of staff by students is been carried out every semester since the inception of the University. The samples of students’ evaluation are available for verification. The reports are been used during Annual Assessment of staff.

The unit is headed by an experience Professor and Former Vice-Chancellor from a public University.
Memberships of the unit are drawn from all the Colleges of University.
